For script consideration, you do not have to have representation. However we do not accept unsolicited script submissions. We are happy to hear from writers that have had a track record with short films that have screened at reputable film festivals. Or come with a recommendation from directing or producing talent. Please give an introduction and mini-bio with which we will consider requesting script materials. We are only considering UK based writers, particularly those based or from Scotland. And those with a diverse or working class background. Any email with unsolicited materials attached will be deleted.
What are we looking for? Well we don't want to narrow it down too far. But below are some of the shows that have excited us over the last few years.
Sitcom and comedy series. Barry; The Thick Of It, Master Of None, Silicon Valley, Garth Marenghi's Dark Place, How To Sell Drugs Online (Fast), Dave, Atlanta, The Other Two, Casual, Arrested Development, Mighty Boosh, Brassic, Kidding, Derry Girls.
Feature Films Thunder Road; Limbo, Napoleon Dynamite, Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind, Clerks, Jeff Who Lives at Home, Greener Grass, Four Lions, The Guard, Everything Everywhere All At Once, Boy, (and of course Restless Natives). We're big champions of films that punch above their weight with the potential of cult status.
We would love to hear from Scottish based Directors; Directors of Photography, Editors, 1st A.D.s, Set Designers, Camera Ops., MUA, Casting Directors to add to our database.
Unfortunately, we are currently not in a position to offer any paid roles or work experience at the company.
For any new writers looking to break in the industry. We know how hard it is to get noticed. That's why we encourage new writers to find emerging filmmakers to team up with and make short films. Use sites like Shooting People to find connections. Attend film festivals and short film nights.
